POSITION OVERVIEW:

Drive the execution of rolling stock project with high criticality, according to contractual requirements and customer expectations (summarized in contract charter), to maximize the results with respect to cash and margin whilst delivering on time, in conformity with Alstom project management and execution processes. Be accountable for project Quality Cost Delivery Planning (QCDP) and project Environment Health & Safety (EHS). Ensure Alstom legal and contractual rights are protected. Seek and propose to the Customer Director / Platform additional opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Be accountable for project QCDP performance and optimize Project Financial performance (Margin & Cash). As owner of the Project Management Work Package (WP), the Project Director is QCDP accountable for all the activities of his/her WP.
2. Be responsible for the project governance, define project strategy in line with contract requirements, including PMP elaboration and objectives allocation to Sub-Systems (planning, cost, quality, performance).
3. Lead and coordinate project activities and stakeholders from transfer to close-out, including:

1. Proper transfer from tender to project.

2. Definition of Project objectives and main drivers (product/service performance, planning) to achieve customer satisfaction in the frame of the Contract.

3. Resources management: Define in advance project core team staffing, as well as his/her WP resources.

4. Escalate when project resources available do not match the project needs.

5. Team leading, including Core Team and when applicable Project Managers of internal and external partners: Make sure that key project stakeholders are aligned towards project goals.

6. Engage project teams in the successful achievement of project objectives and strengthen relationships among them.

7. Synchronize internal partners and arbitrate when necessary.

8. Alignment with contractual requirements and management of variation orders.

9. Arbitration of Q, C, D, P re-baselining and change management at project level.

10. Manage claims and litigations if needed.

11. Proactive risk, saving and opportunity management.

12. Management of the project progress and its KPIs, and reports to senior management, with transparency during the business/critical project reviews.

4. Manage customer and external stakeholders’ relationship continuously ensuring alignment with customer contractual requirements. Ensuring contract management and variation orders towards customer:

1. Performance measurements: Project Performance Indicator (PPI) Cash Performance Indicator (CPI) Gate review Go on time / OTD- GR Customer Satisfaction EHS when applicable.

MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

Educational Requirements: Master Degree (in Engineering, Business Engineering, Economics,…). IPMA, PMP or PM certification is an asset.

Experience: 15 years’ experience as project manager in a relevant industry (railway, aerospace, defense), of which at least 5-year experience of medium/high critical projects. Experience of working in and with multinational companies and in different business cultures.

- Complexity management skills.
- Fluent in French and English; a good command in German would be a major asset.

Work locations: Able to work on a regular basis on various locations (Northern France, Belgium, Germany).
