Senior Cost Estimator

Our client is a major international energy infrastructure group with over 1,000 employees. As a purpose-driven organisation, it plays a key role in accelerating the shift toward a carbon-neutral world by investing in new technologies and developing infrastructure for hydrogen, biomethane, CO2, and other molecules essential to a sustainable future. Within this context, the organisation is seeking a Senior Cost Estimator to strengthen its Technical Development Backbones team at the headquarters in Brussels. Senior Cost Estimator - Energy Functieomschrijving - Shape the organisation's strategy for the energy transition from a cost perspective and translate it into concrete actions. - Identify future client needs and market evolutions and convert them into cost estimation methodologies and tools. - Develop and structure a cost estimating framework, database, and reference tools for internal use. - Align initial project demands with long-term potential to ensure the right cost structure and profitability. - Produce high-level cost estimates during early project development phases. - Screen, analyse, and challenge cost estimates and bids from engineering firms and EPC contractors. - Evaluate alteration assignments, claims, and contractual variations in EPC and contractor agreements. - Collaborate with Project Management, Business Development, and Finance to refine cost estimates and support robust investment analyses. - Contribute to financial planning across key project decision points. - Set up and maintain a comprehensive cost database including market analysis. - Coordinate with Digital/Accelerator teams to develop cost estimating tools and digital methodologies. - Actively share knowledge within the organisation and embed cost estimating in broader strategic and project decisions. - Promote the organisation as a key contributor to the energy transition through infrastructure-based solutions. Profiel - Master's degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience. - Minimum 5 years' experience in cost estimating, project controls, or EPC contract management. - Experience in estimating for terminals, large energy projects or infrastructure is a strong asset. - Strong analytical thinking and ability to critically assess cost structures. - Excellent command of English (essential). - Knowledge of Dutch and/or French is an asset.
