This role is an opportunity to lead and expand a global infrastructure engineering and architecture function. The Infrastructure Lead will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud-based infrastructure in alignment with global standards and regulations. This role partners with cross-functional teams to support business requirements, maintain cloud infrastructure, and oversee the work of a dedicated cloud architecture team and Managed Service Providers (MSPs).








Key Responsibilities



Oversee cloud infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and timely completion

Collaborate with business and IT teams to understand infrastructure needs, identifying architectural patterns to support business solutions

Build and manage cloud-native services, enabling infrastructure automation for application support

Guide and support a team of cloud architects to meet quality and regulatory standards

Evaluate and enhance cloud services, integrating machine learning and AI platforms for improved user experience

Ensure effective handoff from project development to operational support in partnership with MSPs

Maintain detailed documentation for infrastructure systems, including configurations, operational procedures, and knowledge base articles

Stay current on technical innovations, implementing automation solutions and providing end-user training as required

Support long-term infrastructure planning to enhance operational effectiveness and competitive advantage






Skills and Competencies



Strong expertise in cloud computing technologies, IT infrastructure best practices, and industry-specific regulations (e.g., GxP, HIPAA, GDPR)

Proficient understanding of ITIL/ITSM environments, cybersecurity principles, and network architecture

Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus

Proven leadership and team management capabilities, with a strategic and hands-on approach

Excellent organizational and time management skills, able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment






Qualifications



10+ years in an IT infrastructure engineering/architecture role, with a focus on pharma / life sciences or similar industries

Experience in cloud solutions (AWS, Microsoft Azure) and advanced analytics tools

Relevant certifications in Cloud Architecture; PMP and ITIL certifications are a plus

Demonstrated experience managing multi-partner support solutions and transitioning projects to operational support
