We are looking for a Senior Logistics and Procurement Specialist to join our team at Ahlers Logistics. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring logistics services, developing and implementing a unified procurement strategy, and collaborating closely with operations, finance, and sales teams in a global setting.
Responsibilities:
- Source and procure logistics services (road, sea, air) that meet our quality and budget requirements
- Develop and implement a group-wide, unified procurement strategy to ensure consistency and efficiency across all regions
- Collaborate closely with operations, finance, and sales teams to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
- Lead and coach a team of procurement professionals to achieve their goals and develop their skills
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with supply chain disruptions, quality issues, and price volatility
- Ensure compliance with TAPA standards and other relevant regulations
Requirements:
- Strong academic and professional background in procurement and logistics (freight forwarding, contract logistics, transport sourcing)
- Proven experience in leading and coaching high-performing teams
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions
- Solid knowledge of contract management, cost control, and compliance
- Experience with TAPA standards and other relevant regulations
