About the Role
At Koda Staff, we're seeking an experienced Freelance Data Governance Lead to drive our data-driven culture and ensure data quality, compliance, and security. As a key member of our team, you'll establish and implement comprehensive data governance frameworks, policies, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define and implement a data governance strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Develop and enforce data policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data integrity and security.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (GDPR, ISO, etc.).
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Business Teams to ensure effective data management and stewardship.
  • Establish data ownership and accountability frameworks across departments.
  • Improve data quality, metadata management, and master data management (MDM) processes.
  • Drive data literacy and awareness programs within the organization.
  • Monitor and assess data risks, implementing measures to mitigate potential issues.
  • Work with cloud and on-premise data platforms to ensure governance policies are properly integrated.

Requirements:
  • Fluent in French or Dutch (English proficiency is a plus).
  • Proven experience as a Data Governance Lead, preferably in a freelance or consulting role.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data management, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, ISO, DMBOK).
  • Experience with data quality management, metadata management, and master data management (MDM).
  • Familiarity with data governance tools (Collibra, Informatica, Talend, Alation, etc.).
  • Knowledge of data architecture, data security, and cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience working in agile and cross-functional environments is a plus.
