We are seeking an exceptional candidate for the position of Managing Director, who will be responsible for driving the association's growth plans and ambitions.
Job Purpose:
The Managing Director will be appointed by and report to the Board of Directors, with primary responsibility for leading the implementation of the Fire Safe Europe Program. This includes preparing board meetings, core team meetings, task force meetings, and members assembly, as well as minute-taking and implementing decisions.
The ideal candidate will be able to represent Fire Safe Europe internally and externally under a mandate from the Board, ensuring effective communication to key European stakeholders.
Program Coordination and Communication:
The successful candidate will implement FSEU strategy, develop the annual program, and supporting actions/projects. They will also provide support to FSEU Task Force Members and National Ambassadors to develop, implement, and report on their respective actions.
In addition, they will identify needs, develop, and optimize tools and structures to improve the coordination and implementation of the FSEU program.
Association Administration:
The Managing Director will propose the FSEU annual program and budget to the Board of Directors, coordinate the FSEU annual working calendar, and prepare and minute Board of Directors meetings and members assembly.
They will also represent FSEU to various stakeholders and media under Board mandate, implement the decisions of FSEU's managing bodies, and coordinate working structures.
Accountability:
The successful candidate will monitor and report on the performance of the FSEU annual program, budget, and actions/projects. They will also coordinate annual reporting, manage relations and problems with FSEU Members, maintain FSEU official records updated, and coordinate crisis management.
Growth:
The Managing Director will draft, propose, coordinate, and report on the performance of the FSEU and its Community to expand the reach and impact of FSEU. They will also develop memberships and partnerships, identify and seize sponsorship and funding opportunities.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A university degree in a related field (with preference in communication)
- Several years of progressive project management experience, with at least 5 years' successful experience in a relevant field
- Experience within a membership-based industry association
- Technical proficiency necessary to understand the job requirements; Fire Safety is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to build consensus and lead advocacy projects
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-lingual environment
- Capacity to effectively motivate teams of diverse individuals
- Creative and innovative with strong problem-solving skills
- Organised, proactive, customer service-oriented mindset
- Analytical and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively from outside the office environment
