Ak Public Affairs is a boutique consultancy that provides strategic support to organisations shaping the EU policy agenda, with a focus on technology policy.

We are seeking a recent graduate in political science/economy/law with a passion for EU policy and an interest in technology to join our team as a Public Policy Associate in partnership with Workday.

This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in EU affairs, engage with key stakeholders, and contribute to technology policy initiatives. You will work closely with the Workday European Corporate Affairs team in Brussels to support them in monitoring, analysing, and participating in policy debates in technology policy areas such as artificial intelligence, data protection and data transfers, cybersecurity, workforce, skills development and the future of work, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough research on EU policy developments, legislative proposals, and regulatory trends in technology and digital policy.
  • Track and report on relevant policy and legislative activities, including committee meetings, public consultations, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Assist in building and maintaining relationships with EU institutions, industry associations, NGOs, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Support the development and execution of advocacy strategies, including drafting position papers, policy briefs, and communication materials, and conduct outreach to relevant policymakers.
  • Help organise and participate in conferences, workshops, and meetings related to EU policy and technology issues.

Requirements and Profile:

  • A recently graduated student in political science/economy/law with a solid understanding of EU law, institutional setup, policy-making processes, and current EU affairs.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills; proficiency in common work software and familiarity with digital communication tools.
  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is essential; knowledge of additional EU languages is a plus.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and eager to learn; strong organisational and time-management skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
