Job Purpose
The Managing Director will be responsible for leading the implementation of the Fire Safe Europe Program, working closely with the Board of Directors and the Core Team. This role requires strong leadership, advocacy, and communication skills, as well as the ability to drive growth and innovation within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for preparing meetings, minutes, and implementing decisions made by the Board, Core Team, and Task Forces. They will also represent FSEU internally and externally, providing strong advocacy to key stakeholders and strengthening the fire safety agenda. Additionally, they will ensure effective communication to key European stakeholders and implement FSEU strategy, develop annual programs, and propose updates according to changing environments.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a university degree in a related field, preferably with a focus on communication. You should have several years of progressive project management experience, with at least 5 years' successful experience in a relevant field. Experience within a membership-based industry association is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have technical proficiency necessary to understand the job requirements, with a plus for experience in fire safety. They should also be able to build consensus and lead advocacy projects, work effectively in a multi-cultural and multi-lingual environment, and motivate diverse teams.
