We are looking for a skilled Software & Data Engineer to join our team at Octave, a Belgian cleantech company that specializes in energy management services. In this role, you will be responsible for building and scaling our energy management platform, which involves developing and maintaining high-quality software solutions using Python.
About the PlatformOur energy management platform is designed to optimize energy usage and maximize value from flexibility services for companies. It uses large-scale IoT data streams, which you will design, develop, and manage data pipelines to process.
You will work closely with data analysts to create ad-hoc queries and charts, develop, validate, and optimize algorithms. Your ability to communicate clearly in English is essential, as you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve our goals.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain high-quality software solutions using Python
- Design, develop, and manage data pipelines to process IoT data streams
- Collaborate with data analysts to create reports and visualizations
To succeed in this role, you should have experience in software projects, with a record of shipping top-quality Python code to production. You should also have experience with data engineering, including setting up ETL jobs, ML-Ops, and modeling data for analytics.
Additionally, you should have the ability to work independently, have a clear sense of ownership, and deliver high-quality results. Experience in developing web applications, preferably with the Django framework, is also desirable.
