The Advanced Materials Characterization and Investigations (AMCI) group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist to join their team in Beerse, Belgium. As a key member of the team, you will specialize in Particle & Powder Technology and contribute to the characterization of particulate systems.
You will be responsible for conducting experiments to characterize particle and powder properties of active ingredients, excipients, drug product intermediates, and solid dosage forms. This includes designing, setting up, and performing experiments in the lab, integrating results, and meeting project deliverables.
Closely collaborating with Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) and Drug Products (DP) teams, you will enhance product development by providing the best support possible to project teams in CMC development.
In this role, you will continuously evaluate analytical characterization strategies to provide innovative solutions to project teams. Additionally, you will support internal innovation projects with respect to characterization approaches and workflows.
A strong understanding of particle sizing technologies, such as Laser diffraction and Microscopy (Image analysis), and profound knowledge of relation of particle properties to bulk behavior and processability of materials are essential for this position. Good knowledge on characterization approaches of powder properties and statistical methodologies PCA/PLS are also required.
If you have experience/Knowledge of crystallization and/or pharmaceutical formulation and process development, it would be considered an asset. Strong project management skills, communication skills (oral and written), and fluency in English are necessary for effective interactions with all levels of the organization.
This position requires a team player who can work in matrix teams and possesses fast learning abilities, scientific curiosity, self-steering, pro-active, and creative qualities. A good sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently are also essential.
