Nipro Corporation - Global seeks an Internal Audit Supervisor to strengthen its Audit team, based in our EMEA headquarters office in Mechelen, Belgium.
About the role
The successful candidate will work in a team that drives the development of our internal audit function under the direction of the Nipro Europe Group Companies CEO and Audit Committee.
Key responsibilities
- Create and maintain effective audit planning and infrastructure for financial statements and performance auditing.
- Oversee and execute the annual internal audit and coordinate with external audit when necessary.
- Develop and implement internal audit procedures aligned with international best practices.
- Maintain and enhance the governance structure for the internal audit department in line with the Audit Committee.
- Assist in the development of a risk management plan and provide guidance to management on reducing business and financial risks.
- Review the internal control framework, identify areas for improvement, and communicate findings to the CEO and Audit Committee.
- Offer recommendations for process improvements to the business and track the progress of action plans.
- Perform qualitative reviews of audit working papers and report findings to Management and the Audit Committee.
- Ensure close collaboration between the internal audit team, business stakeholders, and external resources through regular reporting.
- Conduct ad hoc investigations into identified or reported risks.
- Oversee ad-hoc and risk-based audits covering operational and financial processes.
- Monitor and track the implementation of audit recommendations.
- Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and apply them to internal audit activities.
- Train and mentor junior audit staff on compliance and internal audit methodologies.
- Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies as needed.
- Adhere to ISO and regulatory requirements, considering Nipro's values.
- Review the performance of the internal audit team and activities annually.
- Provide ad-hoc Due Diligence support as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 9 years of relevant experience in auditing and finance post qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of people management experience.
- Substantial knowledge of accounting principles, practices, procedures, and auditing standards.
- Comprehensive understanding of legal and regulatory requirements.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
