Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our team in Antwerp. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure that powers our data-driven solutions. Main Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable data pipelines to collect, process, and analyze large volumes of data.
  • Implement and optimize ETL processes to ensure the efficiency and reliability of our data operations.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide solutions.
  • Maintain and monitor data systems to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity through best practices and effective data management techniques.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and propose innovative solutions to improve our data infrastructure.

Essential Skills and Tools

  • Proven experience in data engineering with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Experience with Big Data Technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and their data services.
  • Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Apache NiFi, AWS Glue, Talend).
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
  • Understanding of data modeling and database design.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and data science workflows.
  • Certifications in cloud platforms or data engineering are a plus.
