The M&A Advisory team, part of KPMG’s Deals & Strategy practice, aims to advise clients on potential sales, mergers and acquisitions of companies. The team supports clients throughout the various phases of an M&A transaction and contributes from the very early stages, during which a client (corporate or private shareholder) considers the strategic path forward, through to the final phase, supporting the signing and closing of an agreement. Roles & Responsibilities What will the role involve? As a member of the M&A Deals Advisory team, you will be responsible for supporting business origination efforts, executing transactions and supporting senior team members in further developing the M&A and corporate finance service offering of KPMG Belgium.

Key responsibilities
include:
- Regarding transaction execution, you are expected to support key workstreams including, among others, preparing high-quality transaction documentation, coordinating due diligence, financial modelling, in-depth financial and business plan analysis, and valuation, while demonstrating the required expertise in process management across the entire transaction lifecycle;
- Assist in preparing value-added pitch content and supporting the strategic dialogue with clients. This includes helping to build sector knowledge, mapping the M&A market across various sectors, assisting in identifying key targets, and gathering relevant market intelligence;
- In essence, demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and contribute to origination efforts in M&A;
- Actively contribute to the development of more junior members of the M&A team, supporting them in achieving high-quality standards in transaction origination and execution. skills:
- A Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance or Engineering;
- Minimum 2-3 years of transaction experience in Investment Banking and M&A at an international investment bank, M&A boutique or within a Big4 corporate finance team;
- Experience with buy-side and sell-side M&A. Experience with equity and debt financing is considered a strong asset;
- Strong financial modelling skills, including technical expertise, with proven competencies in analytical assessment of businesses and sectors, and a solid understanding of valuation principles and techniques (e.g. DCF, LBO, merger modelling, comparable companies, precedent transactions);
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret data, generate insights, develop solutions and think creatively;
- Experience in preparing and maintaining industry/company presentations, benchmarking materials and other process documentation;
- A collaborative mindset, with experience working in diverse and international teams;
- Enjoyment of working in a project-based environment, combined with strong project management skills;
- CFA accreditation is considered an asset but is not a requirement;
- Confidence in working with AI tools, combined with a critical mindset when applying AI in daily tasks and team collaboration;
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to consistently perform at a high level, including under pressure and within strict deadlines;
- Detail-oriented, well-organized, with a strong work ethic, integrity, initiative and leadership capabilities;
- Open-minded, with the flexibility to operate in a fast-paced environment with evolving client requirements;
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Dutch.
