Our clients, a mid-sized privately-owned, innovation-driven company with a strong international footprint and specializing in a niche area. To join their Medical Affairs department, they are recruiting a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to cover the Belgian territory. The role is based in Flemish Brabant but provides home working and flexibility.

The primary role of the MSL is to provide medical affairs support by disseminating scientific knowledge to external customers and establish ongoing liaison with key stakeholders. The role will act, and be recognized, as the nominated therapeutic area expert and will provide input to Sales, Marketing, and Market Access.

The role's main responsibilities will be to:

1. Identify key medical science information, market opportunities, and threats in the therapeutic field, inspired by contacts/needs assessments with health care professionals and by other sources. Communicate this information to the management team to help appropriate strategic decision-making.
2. Build and implement local/regional medical strategy to fit the expectation of Health Care provider/Patients needs (webinars, regional scientific events, staff, KEEs, mapping and engagement strategy, publications…).
3. Implement medical department-driven projects and activities in which win-win stakeholder collaborations (partnerships) are key to success.
4. Support and facilitate company and investigator-sponsored trials in the country according to internal/external rules.
5. Act as a point of contact for unsolicited information requests on company products/PV follow-up when needed.
6. Conduct internal training on medically relevant topics.
7. Attend relevant scientific meetings and congresses, organize scientific local/regional events.
8. Gather scientific and medical information related to the medical topics/field for the continuous medical strategy development.

Profile:

1. Scientific/Medical background at university level, preferably in medicine, pharmaceutical, or Life-Science area.
2. Experience in Medical Affairs and/or Medical Information areas.
3. Experience in presenting data; 2-3 years of experience in hospital or sales function is an asset.
4. Knowledge of regulatory rules/compliance.
5. Understanding of commercial and healthcare environment, influencing others (physicians/students/payers, prescription level, …).
6. Ability to build trust and confidence with stakeholders.
7. Ideally, bilingual French/Dutch. Knowledge of English.
