pWe are looking for an infrastructure engineer who can own our entire cloud stack. You'll build and operate the systems that power billions of requests, improve observability across everything we run, and expand our infrastructure as we grow.brstrongAbout SearchApibr/strongSearchApi is a real-time SERP API delivering structured data from 100+ search engines and sources, including Google Search, Google Shopping, Google Jobs, Bing, Baidu, YouTube, Amazon, and many more. We power production workloads for Fortune 500 companies and fast-moving startups who need reliable search data at scale.brWe're a lean, profitable, bootstrapped team. No VC pressure, no bloat. Just engineers shipping real products to real customers.brstrong Why Join Us?br/strongulliReal Impact: Small team, massive scale. Your infrastructure runs in production serving billions of requests. /liliHard Problems: Browser clouds, websocket connections, TCP tuning, multi-region deployments, autoscaling at scale. /liliFull Ownership: You won't be one of 50 SREs. You'll own the stack. /liliFortune 500 Customers: Our API powers production workloads, not just pilots and experiments. /liliBootstrapped and Profitable: We answer to customers, not investors.br/li /ulWe are searching for grinders who take ownership and move fast. At SearchApi, you shape the direction, make decisions, and ship. This is not a ticket-driven ops role. You identify problems and solve them.brstrong Tech Stackbr/strongulliAWS: Fargate, ECS, EKS, RDS Postgres, ElastiCache Redis, VPC /liliTerraform /liliDocker /liliRuby on Rails 8.1, Ruby 3.4br/li /ulWe use Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, Intercom, GitHub, and Slack daily. We ship multiple times a day with CI/CD.brstrong🤖 You Control AI, AI Doesn't Control Youbr/strongWe ship faster because we use AI tools aggressively. Cursor and Claude. But you own the output. If you can't evaluate what AI produces, you're not ready for this role.brstrong

What You'll Do
br/strongulliOwn and improve observability across the entire stack: metrics, logging, alerting, dashboards. /liliArchitect and operate browser cloud infrastructure: containerized browsers, session isolation, crash recovery, autoscaling. /liliHandle websocket connections, CDP tunnels, and TCP-level tuning for browser automation. /liliWrite and maintain Terraform for all infrastructure. Everything is code. /liliTune autoscaling, capacity planning, and cost optimization. /liliExpand to new regions as we grow. /liliExperiment with Lambdas, new cloud providers for custom scraping needs. /liliDebug production issues: memory leaks, zombie processes, network failures. /liliBuild disaster recovery and incident response runbooks. /liliWork with Linux systems, Dockerfiles, container orchestration daily.br/li /ulstrongThis is a senior role:br/strongulliYou've done this before at scale. /liliYou can architect systems, not just maintain them. /liliYou mentor other engineers on infrastructure best practices.br/li /ulstrong The Hard Partsbr/strongThis role is not for everyone. Here's what makes it hard:brulliThings break without warning. Proxies fail, browsers crash, cloud providers have outages. You'll debug production issues under pressure. /liliNo hand-holding. We don't assign tasks or write detailed specs. You identify problems and fix them. /liliSmall team, big scope. There's no platform team to escalate to. You own it end-to-end. /liliWritten communication is everything. Remote-first means if you can't write clearly, you'll struggle. /liliFast pace. We ship daily. We expect results, not activity.br/li /ulIf you want predictable tasks, detailed documentation, and someone to tell you what to do, this isn't for you.brstrong✨ About Youbr/strongulliGrinder. You don't wait for instructions. You find work that matters and do it. /liliResults-driven. You ship. You measure. You iterate. /liliGreat writer. Docs, runbooks, post-mortems, PRs. Writing is thinking. /liliStrong work ethic. Startup pace. We work hard because that's how you win against incumbents. /liliDeep production experience with AWS: ECS, EKS, Fargate, RDS, VPC, IAM. /liliFluent in Terraform. Everything is infrastructure as code. /liliComfortable with Linux systems, Docker, container orchestration. /liliExperience running headless browsers or similar workloads at scale (Playwright, Puppeteer, raw CDP). /liliUnderstand networking: TCP, websockets, load balancing, multi-region. /liliBuilt observability stacks that engineers actually use (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar). /liliCan debug memory leaks, zombie processes, and weird container behavior at 2am. /liliFluent in English, written and spoken. /liliBSc or higher in CS or equivalent technical field.br/li /ulstrongWe're especially looking for:br/strongulliExperience with browser clouds or similar high-concurrency containerized workloads. /liliMulti-region and multi-cloud experience. /liliCost optimization at scale. /liliConnection pooling experience (PgBouncer or similar). /liliUnders
