h3Tasks and responsibilities /h3 pAs an SAP/ABAP Developer, you translate functional specifications and discussions with functional analysts into technical solutions. You assess proposed approaches, challenge them where needed, and provide workload estimates. /p ul liYou prepare and complete technical specifications using the available templates and obtain validation from the functional analyst before development starts. /li liYou ensure that developments align with the applicable technical architecture, development standards, naming conventions, SAP best practices, and governance rules. /li liYou analyze and implement SAP Notes. /li liYou develop SAP backend solutions in classical ABAP and Object-Oriented ABAP, with a strong focus on modular code, reuse of existing libraries, and compliance with ABAP Test Cockpit quality checks. /li liYou discuss and formally validate any deviation from the technical specifications with the functional analyst during implementation. /li liYou work closely with the SAP Basis team on topics such as authorizations, infrastructure, and technical system configuration. /li liYou execute and document unit tests thoroughly, including non-functional aspects such as performance, query optimization, mass processing, and technical connectivity. /li liYou analyze reported defects from test campaigns or production incidents and resolve them in consultation with the relevant functional analyst. /li liYou prepare the technical documentation for each developed object based on the implemented solution and the approved specifications. /li liYou may support deployments to test, acceptance, and production environments. Some interventions can take place outside standard business hours. /li /ul pIn this senior role, you may also be entrusted with more specialized responsibilities. /p ul liYou develop solutions for complex or highly specialized SAP topics that require deep expertise. /li liYou contribute to SAP S/4HANA development and interface integrations, including IDoc/ALE, BAPI/RFC, SOAP Web Services, OData, and SAP Gateway. /li liYou work on SAP IS-U solutions within the utilities domain, across multiple functional areas such as Device Management, Structuring/Switching, Metering, EDM, Billing, Customer Services, and AMI. /li liIn collaboration with the SAP Basis team, you analyze and implement non-functional requirements related to security, reliability, availability, performance, maintainability, operability, and compatibility. /li liYou act as a technical reference point and SPOC for complex technical subjects within the team. /li liYou support the Team Lead in improving development frameworks, standards, and cross-functional solution design. /li liYou contribute to the evaluation and introduction of new tools and technologies. /li liYou share expertise with the team and coach junior developers during both the specification phase and implementation. /li /ul h3Your profile /h3 ul liProven experience as an SAP Backend Developer. /li liProven experience in SAP S/4HANA development. /li liStrong knowledge of classical ABAP and solid hands‑on experience with Object-Oriented ABAP. /li liProven experience in SAP interface development, including IDoc/ALE, BAPI/RFC, SOAP Web Services, OData, and SAP Gateway. /li liProven experience with SAP key tools and technical components such as BOR and CDS Views. /li liExperience with data migration using LSMW and EMIGALL. /li liSenior‑level experience as an SAP IS-U Developer in the utilities sector. /li liExperience in SAP IS-U across at least three functional domains, such as Device Management, Structuring/Switching, Metering, EDM, Billing, Customer Services, or AMI. /li liExperience with Web Dynpro, BRF+, SAP BPEM/EMMA, BOL, SAP CRM, and the MPM/IDEX-GC framework. /li liKnowledge of S/4HANA Embedded Analytics, SAP Fiori Launchpad, and Adobe Forms. /li liKnowledge of additional technical areas such as Dynpro/Dialog Programming, FEH, BOPF, and FPM in Web Dynpro is relevant for this role. /li liFamiliarity with supporting tools such as Jira, Omnitracker, SAP Solution Manager, and SOAP UI. /li liMaster's degree in Information Technology, or equivalent relevant background. /li liFluent English is required. /li liYou communicate fluently in French and/or Dutch. /li /ul h3Offer /h3 pYou will be part of a growing Belgian SME where initiative and personal development are encouraged.
