Consulting staff position in Competition Economics in Brussels

We are currently looking for Consulting staff to join our Economics Practice in Brussels. We require highly motivated problem solvers with strong analytical ability and a desire to advance within BRG.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing relevant case-specific literature
  • Conducting literature and case law reviews to draw conclusions for case work
  • Carrying out and leading data cleanup and preparation
  • Conducting economic and econometric analyses
  • Presenting your findings through data visualisation and drafting of client reports
  • Develop project management skills, communicate results and work product as appropriate
  • Supporting and supervising interns or more junior staff
  • Participating in internal and external business development projects such as contributing to opinion pieces, conferences and workshops

Qualifications

  • You hold an advanced degree (M.A., M.Sc., or PhD) in Economics or related fields from a leading university
  • You have previous internship or work experience with a focus on competition economics or a related field
  • You have an interest in competition economics and a good knowledge of theoretical and/or empirical microeconomics and industrial organisation
  • You enjoy conceptual issues and working with data
  • You are proficient in Excel and statistical software/programming languages (e.g., R, Stata or Python) and desire to expand those skills further and train others
  • You can draft and communicate effectively in English and German. A good knowledge of other languages (e.g., French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, etc.) is an asset
  • You are committed to producing high-quality analyses and paying close attention to detail
  • You have a positive can‑do attitude and you are willing to proactively engage with your colleagues
