Data Functional Analyst

h3What you will do /h3 pYou will join the Data Office, the cornerstone of all data-related activities within this public-sector organisation. Working in a multi-disciplinary agile team alongside data engineers, reporting experts, project managers, data architects, data quality experts and AI specialists, you will: /p ul liLead discussions with different subject matter experts from the business to understand their data-related needs /li liIdentify, assess and understand business processes, operational and analytics data flows (incoming and outgoing) /li liTranslate business needs into data and technical requirements /li liDesign and validate data models in collaboration with data architects /li liEstablish the functional design for developments in full collaboration with the data governance team, BI technical leads and ICT teams /li liBe in contact with the data protection officer to ensure GDPR and security compliance /li liEnsure the testing of the data products developed /li liInform, train and encourage adoption of business users /li /ul h3What we are looking for /h3 ul liMaster degree in Computer Science or equivalent through experience /li liMinimum 5 years of professional experience in data functional analysis /li liConcrete experience in data warehouse modelling (Kimball approach) /li liConcrete experience in designing and analysing data flows /li liMinimum 3 years of concrete experience with MS on-premise stack (SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, Power BI) /li liPrior experience as data engineer is a plus /li liExperience of Azure Databricks is a plus /li liExcellent communication skills (speaking, reading, writing) /li liMastering both national languages professionally (French and Dutch: B2+ minimum) /li liExcellent presentation skills /li liStrong conceptual and business understanding /li liStrong data literacy /li liAbility to translate business needs into technical solutions /li liCan-do attitude with strong sense of ownership and autonomy /li liStrong problem-solving, pragmatic approach and delivery focus /li liTeam player, perseverant, stress resistant and flexible /li liLike to learn and open-minded /li /ul h3The setting /h3 pThis assignment runs from 26 October 2026 to 31 December 2026.
