The CFO Enstar, Belgium, provides strategic oversight of local statutory and regulatory financial reporting for Belgium, to protect compliance, credibility, and legal-entity governance. The role serves as the Finance team’s Enstar point of contact for local regulators and external auditors, shaping responses and point of views on reporting matters. In addition, the role provides decision-quality input to the local leadership on local reporting risks, regulatory changes, and legal-entity performance insights.

This role has a secondary reporting line to the EU CFO, is a key member of the Finance Leadership Team and serves as a member of the Board. The position will play a critical role in influencing the direction and effectiveness of the broader Finance function, driving the execution of strategic initiatives, and embedding best practices across the organization. The successful candidate will provide strong leadership to a team of two direct reports while fostering collaboration and partnering with senior stakeholders to deliver business and finance objectives.

What you will be doing:

Define the expectations and review standards for local statutory and regulatory financial report production, supporting accurate, timely, and compliant filings.

Provide approval governance for and review Enstar’s local financial submissions (e.g., annual reports, regulatory returns, tax-related filings as applicable), supporting consistent quality and reduced resubmission risk.

Maintain forward-looking awareness of local regulatory and accounting changes, supporting early impact visibility and proactive compliance planning.

Establish and optimise Enstar’s approach in managing regulator inquiries, information requests, and follow-ups, supporting complete responses and reduced escalation.

Define the expectations for Enstar’s audit request management, evidence quality, and response timeliness, supporting cleaner audit evidence trails and fewer late-cycle issues.

Act as Enstar’s primary point of contact for local regulatory authorities on financial reporting topics, supporting coherent communications and timely responses.

Serve as Enstar’s finance representative in regulatory interactions (e.g., inspections, reporting reviews, supervisory discussions), supporting credibility and well-controlled outcomes.

Ensure governance of the relationship with the local external audit partner, supporting predictable audit execution and reduced friction.

Provide oversight of audit observations and findings, supporting closure of issues and reduced repeat findings.

Provide oversight into legal-entity financial performance reporting presented to the local CEO and Board, supporting clear visibility to results, risks, and emerging issues.

Ensure Enstar’s local leadership is kept informed of material financial matters, supporting timely decisions and effective governance.

Partner with the Group Consolidation & Reporting Lead to drive execution of global, region-specific operational tasks via the dedicated Controllership Support Managers.

Provide regional perspective and recommendations to the Group Financial Controller on local reporting risk, regulator expectations, and audit themes, supporting aligned enterprise positions and escalation readiness.

Coordinate the preparation, review, and timely submission of tax documentation, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and supporting effective tax governance across the organization.

Support the CEO in identifying, evaluating, and pursuing new strategic opportunities by providing financial insight, commercial analysis, and decision support to enable sustainable business growth.

Fulfil the statutory, fiduciary, and governance obligations associated with serving as a Director, ensuring compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements while acting in the best interests of the Board and its stakeholders.

Fulfil all responsibilities outlined in the Boards’ Terms of Reference

Serve as CFO for SISE and formally report to the Board of Directors at quarterly meetings (or as otherwise specified).

Act as a member of the Belgium Management Committee

Proven ability to support acquisitions and effectively manage capital and liquidity requirements.

In addition to the above key responsibilities, you may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as the Company may reasonably require.

What you will bring:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent with extensive insurance experience either in an industry or advisory role within the Belgium market.

Qualified accountant with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a financial role; experience managing an accounting or finance team is preferred.
