We're supporting an organisation on an exciting data transformation journey, implementing a Databricks-powered Lakehouse platform that will become the foundation for analytics, reporting, AI, and data-driven decision making.

We're looking for an experienced Data Engineer who can take ownership of the technical evolution of the platform, helping shape the future of data across the business.

What You'll Be Doing

Designing, building and optimising scalable data pipelines in Azure Databricks

Developing and maintaining Bronze, Silver and Gold data layers using a Medallion Architecture

Integrating new data sources including APIs, databases, external datasets and file-based feeds

Improving platform performance, reliability, monitoring and observability

Driving data quality, governance and engineering best practices

Working closely with business stakeholders, analysts and data teams to deliver trusted, consumption-ready datasets

Supporting the transition from legacy reporting environments to a modern Databricks Lakehouse platform

Identifying opportunities to automate processes, reduce costs and increase the value delivered through data

What We're Looking For

Proven experience as a Data Engineer or Analytics Engineer

Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, including AI/BI Dashboards and Genie

Strong SQL skills

Python and/or PySpark expertise

Experience building production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines

Azure Data Factory (or equivalent orchestration tools)

Experience with cloud-based data engineering and storage technologies

Understanding of data modelling and analytics-ready datasets

Experience with Git, Azure DevOps and modern delivery practices

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Fluent Dutch and English

Nice To Have

Delta Lake optimisation experience

Unity Catalog and data governance tooling

Power BI exposure

Terraform or Bicep

Azure Functions and event-driven architectures

Experience in healthcare, retail, service or multi-country environments

French language skills

Working Model

Belgium

Hybrid working model: 3 days onsite per week and 2 days remote

Collaborative environment with significant exposure to business stakeholders and Global senior data teams
