As empasiprubart advances through Phase 3 development across multiple rare neuromuscular and autoimmune indications, we are strengthening our global Commercial Development team with a Director who will help shape the asset’s value, strategy, and path to global launches.
The OpportunityThe Director, Commercial Development – empasiprubart will play a central role in guiding the commercialization strategy for one of argenx’s next major assets. This leader will be accountable for strategic assessments, pipeline indication value analyses, cross‑functional integration, early launch shaping, and ensuring the asset is positioned for optimal success across markets.
You will partner closely with the Complement Asset Strategy Team (COAST), Corporate Strategy, Clinical Science, Medical Affairs, Market Access, HEOR, Regulatory, CMC, Clinical Operations, and regional commercial teams—supporting the work of the Indication Development Teams (IDTs) for empasiprubart. This is an ideal role for someone who excels in building commercial strategy early, leading through influence, and working across ambiguity.

US or Europe (Ghent/Boston/Switzerland preferred; other locations considered)
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Asset LeadershipSupport the development and refinement of the global commercial strategy for empasiprubart across current and future pipeline indications, in alignment with argenx Vision 2030Lead commercial insights generation, including opportunity assessments, competitive analysis, patient journey mapping, and indication prioritizationContribute to Target Product Profile (TPP) development and payer testing efforts, aligned with activities referenced in empasiprubart workstreams (e.
G., TPP payer testing) to inform pricing and global access strategyCross‑Functional LeadershipServe as a key commercial partner within the empasiprubart Indication Development Teams (IDTs), ensuring integration of commercial perspectives into clinical, regulatory, HEOR, and medical plansPartner with the Global Launch Leads to create a seamless transition from strategic planning into launch executionCollaborate with Market Access, HEOR, and Pricing to ensure evidence‑generation plans meet payer expectations globallyLaunch Readiness & Early Commercial ActivitiesShape pre‑launch activities including disease education, early access strategy planning, stakeholder mapping, and channel strategySupport brand strategy foundations including positioning, segmentation, messaging frameworks, and early creative territory explorationContribute to global forecast models and scenario planning, in partnership with Commercial Insights and FP&AExternal Engagement & Insight GenerationEngage with key external stakeholders (KOLs, patient advocacy, payers, partners) to gather deep insights that influence strategic decision‑makingRepresent Commercial in business development evaluations of opportunities relevant to empasiprubart’s lifecycleOrganizational Development & Ways of WorkingHelp build and scale the commercial development function within the empasiprubart franchiseRole‑model argenx values and reinforce cross‑functional collaboration, contributing to a high‑performance, patient‑focused cultureSupport onboarding and capability building of new team members, consistent with organizational goalsQualifications and
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred (MBA, MSc, PhD). Strong scientific background preferredMinimum 8–10 years in biotech/pharma, including experience in commercial strategy, pharma/biotech management consulting, global marketing, new product planning, or commercial developmentExperience in rare disease or neurology/autoimmune strongly preferredDemonstrated ability to lead complex cross‑functional projects and influence senior stakeholders without direct authorityStrong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and comfort with ambiguityExperience with asset‑level global launch planning is a plusExceptional communication, collaboration, and project leadership capabilitiesExcellent project management, communication, and organizational skillsWillingness to travel (~30%)#LI-Remote For applicants in the United States: The annual base salary hiring range for this position is $196,000.00
