This role focuses on the core numerical engine, including Finite Element Methods (FEM), Method of Moments (MoM), Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD), sparse matrix solvers, meshing technologies, eigenvalue and eigenmode analysis, high‑performance parallel computing, and advanced boundary condition formulations. /ppThe ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in computational electromagnetics, numerical methods, scientific computing, and software engineering, with a passion for developing robust, scalable, and high‑performance simulation technology. You will work on the numerical infrastructure and algorithms that enable the efficient and accurate solution of Maxwell's equations for complex electromagnetic systems. /ppA major focus of this role is enabling simulation technologies for bsuperconducting quantum processors, resonators, couplers, packaging structures, control and readout networks, and cryogenic microwave environments. /b /ppWhile the end applications are quantum‑focused, the work itself centers on advancing the bsolver infrastructure, numerical algorithms, and software architecture /b that make these capabilities possible. You will work alongside experts in computational electromagnetics, quantum engineering, applied mathematics, and scientific software development to create scalable, production‑grade simulation technology used by researchers and engineers developing the next generation of quantum computing systems. /ph3Responsibilities /h3pYou will collaborate with multiple Keysight RD organizations to: /pulliExtend computational EM capabilities across Keysight simulation products /liliImprove EM‑circuit‑system co‑simulation workflows /liliDevelop methodologies for advanced packaging, RF/microwave systems, and quantum technologies /liliCreate scalable simulation approaches that leverage modern HPC architectures /liliTranslate emerging customer requirements into reusable EDA capabilities /liliQuantum computing is the main application area, but the primary objective is the advancement of computational EM technologies that support a broad range of engineering domains. /li /ulh3Key Responsibilities /h3ulliWork with existing EDA product teams including computational EM, Quantum, RF/microwave, and circuit simulation groups to define and develop new simulation capabilities. /liliDevelop and validate advanced computational electromagnetic workflows for challenging multi‑scale and multi‑physics problems. /liliCollaborate with software engineering teams to transform simulation methodologies into product features and production‑quality solutions. /liliApply computational EM techniques to emerging technology areas including quantum computing, superconducting devices, advanced packaging, high‑frequency interconnects, and cryogenic systems. /liliCreate validated application workflows demonstrating end‑to‑end design methodologies from layout through EM simulation and system‑level analysis. /liliImprove scalability and performance of simulation workflows through efficient modeling strategies and HPC technologies. /liliCorrelate simulation results against measurement data, analytical models, and published results. /liliPartner with customers and internal application teams to identify future simulation requirements and product opportunities. /liliProduce technical documentation, validation examples, and reference workflows that accelerate customer adoption. /li /ulh3Qualifications /h3h3Required Skills Experience /h3ulliBachelor's degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related technical field. Advanced degrees (Master's or PhD) are preferred. /liliStrong experience in computational electromagnetics, electromagnetic simulation, or numerical modeling. /liliExperience with one or more commercial EM simulation environments including: /liliADS /liliEMPro /liliHFSS /liliCST /liliCOMSOL /liliSimilar electromagnetic analysis tools. /li /ulpbStrong understanding of /b: /pulliElectromagnetic field theory /liliRF/microwave engineering /liliNumerical simulation methods /liliModel validation techniques /liliCircuit and system‑level
