ph3Project Overview /h3 pThe program aims to take over a portion of the Ministry of Defence’s application landscape and strengthen the internal teams. It involves the complete takeover of the operational management of approximately thirty business applications, which vary in business and technology. The takeover activities are split into three main areas: /p ul liHandover/Takeover – documentation, application maintenance, and development of new features. /li liRe‑engineering and/or complete rewriting of applications to align with current development standards. /li liLanguage

requirements:
French or Dutch at expert level; English at advanced (written) level. /li /ul h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liDevelop and maintain business applications. /li liDevelop application components and web services. /li liContribute to the design of architecture components and building blocks in close collaboration with technical leads or senior architects. /li liParticipate in technical working groups, Scrum meetings, and user meetings if required. /li liAssist in testing, technical documentation, deployment, evaluation, and reporting (Unit, JIRA). /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liMinimum 7 years of full‑time professional Java development experience (full‑stack preferred). /li liExperience with multi‑system integration and complex environments. /li liStrong technical knowledge and practical experience with the following technologies: ul liJava 17+ /li liSpring 4+, Spring Boot 3+ /li liFrontend – Angular 19+ /li liRESTful Web Services, OpenAPI /li liTest‑driven development (JUnit, Mockito, Cypress) /li liMaven, Docker, Git, NPM /li liRelational databases and ORM (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.) /li liReading BPMN, UML, and documentation practices /li liAgile/Scrum methodologies and continuous integration /li /ul /li liProblem solver, quick to understand existing code, solution‑ and customer‑oriented. /li liAbility to integrate easily into an existing team. /li liNice to have: Keycloak, Hibernate, Lombok, Mapstruct, OpenShift/Kubernetes, GitLab CI, Sonar, OAuth 2.0, Flyway or Liquibase, JIRA/Confluence. /li /ul h3Mission

Working Hours
/h3 pLocation: Brussels (just in front of Midi Station). bInitial contract until 30/09/2026 /b – the mission is long‑term and can be extended. Possibility of remote work (up to 7.5 h per day) with a requirement to be on site for a minimum of two days per week.
