We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Java Engineer in Brussels, Belgium , with extensive experience in Java, Spring Boot, Angular, React and microservices architectures .
You will develop, integrate and maintain secure, scalable enterprise applications, combining strong back-end engineering expertise with modern front-end development and DevOps practices.
Brussels, Belgium – Hybrid – Maximum 2-hour driving distance – 12+ years of experience
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Develop and integrate REST APIs, web services and microservices , supporting interoperability across enterprise systems.
- Build and maintain application integrations using JSON, XML and CSV data formats.
- Design and optimize data access across relational and NoSQL databases , including PostgreSQL, MySQL and Oracle.
- Implement and maintain containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes .
- Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines using Git, GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
- Apply secure software development practices , including GDPR and data protection requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on technical design, implementation, testing and continuous application improvement.
Profile
- 12+ years of professional full-stack software development experience , covering front-end and back-end engineering.
- 10+ years of experience with Java and Spring Boot .
- 8+ years of experience with REST APIs, integration services and JSON/XML/CSV data formats.
- 6+ years of experience with web services, SOA and microservices architectures.
- 5+ years of experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle), NoSQL/document databases and secure software development.
- 4+ years of experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools, Git, GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
- 5+ years of experience with Jira, Confluence or equivalent collaboration tools.
- Strong understanding of GDPR, data protection and secure application development .
- Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement in Brussels , while residing within a maximum two-hour driving distance.
Mandatory Certification
Candidates must hold at least one of the following certifications or an accepted equivalent:
