Here’s what you’ll be doing: /p ul libCollaborate with clients: /bWork closely with stakeholders to understand their data landscape, governance maturity, business requirements and strategic objectives /li libDesign governance frameworks operating models: /bDevelop and implement pragmatic, all-round data governance frameworks — policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and operating models — tailored to each organisation’s needs and level of maturity. /li libEstablish roles accountability: /bDefine and embed data ownership and stewardship structures, decision rights and governance bodies (councils, forums) that make governance stick. /li libImprove data quality management: /bSet up frameworks for data quality, metadata, lineage and master data, translating governance principles into practical, day-to-day ways of working. /li libImprove decision performance: /bIdentify opportunities to optimise data management processes, performance management and the overall governance operating model. /li libSupport change and adoption: /bCoach and train stakeholders to ensure strong adoption, cultural buy-in and the long-term value of the governance frameworks you put in place. /li libLeverage BDO’s network: /bCollaborate with colleagues across Finance, IT, Risk, Strategy and other practices to deliver integrated, high-impact solutions for clients. /li libCoach and enable teams: /bContribute actively to peer coaching, knowledge sharing and team enablement, and support the growth of colleagues by spreading expertise, mentoring on the job and strengthening data governance capabilities across the team. /li /ul h3What do you bring to the table? /h3 pWe are looking for someone who combines strong analytical skills with a consulting mindset and a passion for well-managed data. experience:
/b5+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management or a closely related field, ideally within a consulting or project-based environment, with a track record of leading initiatives end to end. /li libEducational background: /bMaster’s degree in Computer Science, Data, Engineering, Business Economics or a related field. /li libLanguage proficiency: /bFluent in either French or Dutch, with a very good knowledge of English. /li libGovernance expertise: /bSolid experience designing and implementing data governance frameworks and operating models. Covering roles and responsibilities, policies, standards, data quality, metadata and stewardship, in a tool-neutral, process
- and framework-first way. /li libBalanced technical advisory profile: /bComfortable moving between hands-on technical understanding with light implementation work (data models, data platforms, data quality and metadata concepts) and advisory work on operating models, policies and governance strategy. /li libScalable delivery: /bProven interest or expertise in scaling governance delivery through reusable templates, accelerators, best practices and automation where relevant. /li libBusiness understanding: /bAbility to translate business needs and governance principles into practical, value-driven and adoptable solutions. /li libCommunication leadership: /bExcellent communication skills and the ability to interact with, and influence, both business and technical stakeholders up to senior level. /li libConsulting
