ppbLocation: /b Mons, Belgium — hybrid — three days on site every second week.br/bWho can apply: /b candidates with the right to work in the EU, and UK-based candidates. /p pAn engineering seat on a real-time intelligence platform used by defence, national-security and NATO-aligned organisations across Europe. Small team, a great deal of ownership: an operational question arrives open-ended, and your job is to turn it into something operators genuinely rely on — in the field or in an operations centre. /p pThe heart of the work is bPalantir Foundry /b. You design the pipelines, the ontology and the applications that bring live intelligence together with the customer's own operational data — sensor feeds, asset and unit positions, mission context — and you own the result from the first sketch on a whiteboard to a system people depend on. /p h3What you would be doing /h3 ul liSitting with defence and security users to understand what matters most to them in situational awareness and force protection, then scoping solutions against it. /li liDesigning, building and deploying on Palantir Foundry — data pipelines, ontology models and operator-facing applications. /li liBringing live intelligence into the workflows, common operating pictures and command-and-control tooling already in use, so that people with very different information needs each receive what is relevant to their mission. /li liBuilding and tuning custom widgets where that is what the user actually needs. /li liOwning solutions end to end, with little supervision and sound technical judgement of your own. /li liDebugging across the whole stack — infrastructure, networking, application — often in restricted, disconnected or on-premise settings. /li liBeing the technical adviser the customer's engineers and operators trust, and carrying their feedback back into the product. /li liTravelling to customer sites and operations centres in Europe, roughly a quarter to three quarters of the time. /li /ul h3What you would bring /h3 ul liA strong engineering background — computer science, software engineering, mathematics, physics or something equally technical. /li liHands-on Palantir Foundry work: pipelines, ontology, Compute Modules, Code Repositories and Workbooks, application development. This one is core to the role. /li liFluency in at least one of Python, Java, SQL, TypeScript or JavaScript, Bash, Go. /li liThree years or more of professional software or forward-deployed / solutions engineering, shipping systems into production. /li liThe knack of picking up an unfamiliar platform architecture and data model quickly, and of reasoning about how a technical decision lands on the operator. /li liContainers (Docker or Podman) and orchestration (Kubernetes or OpenShift), with solid Linux, networking and on-premise fundamentals. /li liEase with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike, and with objectives that shift as the mission does. /li liWillingness to travel and to work on site in secure customer facilities. /li /ul h3Nice to have /h3 ul liSoftware delivered in classified, air-gapped or otherwise disconnected environments. /li liA background supporting defence, intelligence, national-security or emergency-management work. /li liGeospatial platforms and common-operating-picture tooling (Esri, ArcGIS), or command-and-control systems. /li liFront-end frameworks, and data-rich applications built for operators. /li liA feel for how NATO and national defence customers handle accreditation and compliance. /li liA second European language. /li /ul /p
