Qargo is designed to help modern logistics operations run more efficiently, while increasing profitability and sustainability. /ppWe’re looking for an bAI Software Engineer – MCP Agents /b to join our team in Ghent. You’ll build the MCP tools and agent infrastructure that make Qargo agent-ready, for our customers and for our own teams. If you want autonomy, ownership and impact in an international scale-up, this is the role for you /ph3bAbout the Role /b /h3pWe are rapidly iterating to make the Qargo platform agent-ready for both end users and internal workflows. This includes building MCP tools that enable agents to interact intuitively with our extensive product. In this role, you will need to understand users’ goals and the tools their agents need to achieve them. /ppWe also continue to integrate AI into our core product to save transport companies time and prevent planning and administrative errors. /pullipYou will help make the Qargo platform agent-ready by expanding the MCP toolset that agents use to interact with our core TMS product. /p /lilipYou will collaborate closely with internal customer success teams to understand their workflows and provide the right tools for agents to support them. /p /lilipYou will help develop our internal agent infrastructure. /p /lilipYou will collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to turn real logistics challenges into practical AI solutions. /p /lilipYou will help scale, monitor, and improve our AI components to ensure reliability, efficiency, and performance. /p /lilipYou will work across research, rapid prototyping, and productionisation of AI features. /p /lilipYou will contribute to shaping Qargo’s long-term AI strategy and roadmap. /p /li /ulh3Key Responsibilities /h3ullipMonitor and improve agentic workflows to improve the amount of work AI agents can do in our environment. /p /lilipMonitor and maintain AI systems running in production, optimising cost, latency, and reliability. /p /lilipBring AI prototypes to production, ensuring quality, scalability, and observability. /p /lilipCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define clear AI workflows (e.g., onboarding setup automation, system configuration, …). /p /lilipDevelop and enhance AI-driven features such as document extraction, matching flows, quality checks, chatbots, and automated bookings. /p /lilipStay up to date with advancements in AI and identify opportunities to improve the product. /p /li /ulh3Skills Experience /h3ullipExperience in software engineering, applied AI, or similar technical roles. /p /lilipStrong programming skills (preferably Python and/or modern backend languages). /p /lilipExperience with designing MCP interfaces /p /lilipExperience with AI agent toolchains and frameworks such as LangChain/LangGraph, AgentConnect, FastMCP /p /lilipExperience deploying and operating AI/ML systems in a production environment is a plus /p /lilipAbility to experiment quickly, iterate fast, and validate assumptions. /p /lilipStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment. /p /lilipClear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with engineers, product managers, and domain experts. /p /lilipExperience with document processing, NLP, or conversational AI is a plus. /p /li /ulh3What
