Function
The Sustainability Advisor helps our group operate sustainably and actively contributes to the environmental strategy, in accordance with the standards and applicable sector regulations.
He/she ensures that ESG principles are implemented in all processes, places the sustainability theme high on the agenda, and thereby creates a dynamic that becomes part of the corporate culture.
The Sustainability Advisor works closely with the Sustainability Engineer and reports to the Process & Innovation Director.
Responsibilities:
- Identify risks and opportunities regarding sustainability within the organization’s core business;
- Propose sustainability goals and translate them into concrete actions;
- Working on circular economy, energy, waste and supply chain;
- Ensuring that the company complies with European regulations such as CSRD;
- Measuring and reducing CO₂ emissions, CO2 PL: assisting the Sustainability Engineer where necessary;
- Prepare ESG reporting (Environmental, Social, Governance) and work on the implementation of ESG commitments and strategies;
- Raising awareness among employees and generating enthusiasm regarding sustainability themes in collaboration with the HR Department (workshops, training, etc.);
- Help shape sustainability projects;
- Informing stakeholders about sustainability projects;
- Monitoring regulatory developments.
Profile
- Master’s program with a focus on sustainability management, environmental technology, and energy;
- Experience in a similar position is a must, ideally in the construction sector;
- A good knowledge of regulations and standards (ISO 14001, CO2PL, CSRD, …) is necessary;
- Solid project management skills;
- Strong analytical skills with a pragmatic and “hands-on” approach;
- Experience with stakeholder management;
- Very good communication skills with the necessary diplomacy;
- Change agent with infectious enthusiasm;
- Bilingual Dutch – French;
- Autonomous and meticulous in approach;
- Both “business minded” and “impact minded”;
- Critical thinking skills;
- Proactive.
