Rate: €65–€85 per hour (based on experience)

A leading engineering and construction organisation is currently looking for multiple Freelance Proposal Engineers to support its expanding project portfolio across industrial and mission-critical sectors.

Working as part of the Tendering team, you will play a key role in developing technical and commercial solutions for complex EPC projects, collaborating with engineering, procurement, construction and project delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the preparation of complete technical and commercial bid submissions.
  • Review client requirements, specifications, drawings, scopes of work and tender documentation.
  • Develop project execution approaches, installation strategies and technical methodologies.
  • Produce and coordinate estimates covering mechanical works, materials, subcontractors, equipment, resources and associated project costs.
  • Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and validate technical solutions.
  • Work closely with internal engineering and operational teams to ensure proposals are deliverable and commercially competitive.
  • Assess technical challenges, project risks and potential opportunities during the bid phase.
  • Support client meetings, tender clarifications and negotiation processes.
  • Contribute to improving tendering processes, tools and methodologies.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience within Proposal Engineering, Tendering, Estimation, Bid Management or Pre-Construction Engineering.
  • Background delivering bids for complex EPC projects.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical installations, industrial systems and piping activities.
  • Experience within one or more of the following sectors: Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Industrial facilities.
  • Comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement and construction.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop practical and cost-effective solutions.
  • English language skills required; French is advantageous.
