The opportunity

Looking for an experienced Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to cover the Benelux region.

The MSL will act as a trusted scientific partner to healthcare professionals, KOLs, investigators and other stakeholders, providing balanced medical and scientific information while gathering valuable field insights to inform Medical Affairs and broader business strategy.

The role offers significant autonomy, with responsibility for developing and executing a territory plan aligned with regional and local priorities.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong scientific relationships with KOLs, external experts and healthcare professionals.
  • Provide balanced, evidence-based medical and scientific information.
  • Identify unmet medical needs, treatment barriers, knowledge gaps and changes in clinical practice.
  • Support medical education, scientific exchange and internal training activities.
  • Develop and execute KOL and territory engagement plans.
  • Support congresses, scientific meetings, advisory boards and educational activities.
  • Gather and communicate meaningful field medical insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor emerging evidence, publications and developments within relevant therapeutic areas.
  • Provide appropriate medical and scientific support to Clinical Development, including clinical trial sites and investigators.
  • Identify and support relevant investigator-initiated research opportunities.
  • Respond to medical information requests through high-quality literature research.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Market Access and Commercial, within applicable compliance boundaries.
  • Maintain accurate activity records and ensure all interactions meet the highest ethical and professional standards.

You will ideally have:

  • A university degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Life Sciences or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years' experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or life sciences sector, as an MSL or in a field medical role.
  • Strong clinical research and scientific knowledge, with the ability to interpret and communicate clinical data.
  • Experience engaging healthcare professionals and working within complex healthcare environments.
  • Strong scientific communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and develop expertise in new therapeutic areas.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative and consultative skills.
  • A strong commitment to continuous scientific and medical learning.

Experience within Benelux healthcare systems, hospitals and scientific communities is highly desirable. Experience in specialist therapeutic areas such as haematology/oncology or nephrology would be advantageous.
