Umicore’s expertise covers the sourcing, production and distribution of cobalt and nickel products. Our recycling and refining processes give new life to cobalt and other metals and reduce environmental impacts. To meet the demands of our customers we cannot stand still. Which is where you come in. /p h3bJob Purpose /b /h3 pWe are currently looking forban Environmental, Health Safety Manager /bto join our team inbBruges /b. In this role you will oversee all matters related to Health, Safety and Environment, hence combining the function of Safety Prevention Advisor and Environmental Coordinator within USMB. You will also be responsible for the Bruges plant security. /p h3bYour Key Accountabilities /b /h3 pHealth and Safety /p ul liYou set up, implement and manage an adequate safety strategy and management for the site, sensitizing, motivating employees at all levels at the site in order to foster a pro-active safety culture /li liYou monitor and reports on safety performance metrics and KPI’s /li liYou implement and follow up of Umicore Group Standards /li liYou are the final responsible for the intervention and EHBO teams /li liYou conduct comprehensive risk assessments and safety audits, for both the chemical and process risks at UMSB /li liYou keep the site policies in line with the environmental legal requirements and Umicore group Requirements /li liYou acquire and maintain the necessary environmental and building permits for the site /li liYou manage all legal and group communication/reports /li liYou keep the site ISO14001 certified. /li /ul pOther responsibilities; /p ul liYou are in charge of plant security /li liYou are the USMB contact for EHS within/outside Umicore /li liYou represent Umicore and USMB in sectorial organizations and professional associations. /li liYou set up and maintain good relations with local governmental and city services. /li liYou are USMB contact with external Occupational Health Services /li liYou actively follow up on Umicore Group standards and implement across the site and collaborate with management to create and enforce safety policies. /li /ul h3bWho we are looking for /b /h3 ul liYou have a Master degree in a technical branche or equivalent by experience. You have officially accredited degree of Safety Prevention Advisor – level 1. /li liYou have at least 5 years of operational Managerial experience /li liYou have a solid knowledge of applicable legislation (regional, national, European, …) /li liYou are highly interested in chemicals and chemical process /li liYou have good (spoken and written) communication skills and are well able to communicate persuasive and tactful to all levels of site and hierarchy /li liYou are able to set up, present and defend a strategy and coordinate implementation and combine short and long time visions /li liYou combine good project management and people management skills. Team play is key for you /li liYou are responsible and decisive /li liYou are a conciliator of green and safety values with industrial/economic objectives /li /ul pbWhat
