1 year About the Role

We are seeking a

Senior Freelance Python Developer

to design, develop, and optimize

scalable, efficient, and high-performance Python-based applications and systems . In this role, you will lead the development of backend services, APIs, automation scripts, and data processing pipelines, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, maintainable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain

scalable backend applications

using

Python and frameworks

like Django, Flask, or FastAPI. Build and optimize

RESTful APIs, GraphQL services, and microservices

for seamless integration with frontend and third-party systems. Implement

authentication, authorization, and security best practices

(e.g., OAuth2, JWT, encryption, and role-based access control). Optimize

application performance, scalability, and reliability

through efficient code, database design, and caching (Redis, Memcached). Collaborate with

frontend developers, data engineers, and DevOps teams

to deliver end-to-end solutions. Lead the

architecture and design

of new features and systems, ensuring alignment with business and technical goals. Write

clean, maintainable, and well-documented code

following best practices (PEP 8, SOLID principles). Implement

automated testing

(unit, integration, E2E) using frameworks like

pytest

or

unittest , and set up

CI/CD pipelines . Work with

popular Python libraries

for web development (Django REST Framework, FastAPI), data processing (Pandas, NumPy), async programming (asyncio, Celery), and cloud integration (Boto3, Azure SDK). Mentor

junior developers

and provide technical guidance on complex challenges. Stay up-to-date with

emerging Python libraries, tools, and industry trends

to recommend innovative solutions. Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience

5+ years

of experience as a

Python Developer, Backend Engineer, or similar role , with

3+ years in a senior or leadership capacity . Expertise in

Python and its frameworks

(Django, Flask, FastAPI, or similar). Strong background in

RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and microservices architecture . Experience with

SQL and NoSQL databases . Proficiency in

asynchronous programming

(asyncio, Celery) and

performance optimization . Hands-on experience with

popular Python libraries

for web development, data processing, testing, and cloud integration. Experience with

DevOps practices

(Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines) is a plus. Knowledge of

cloud platforms

(AWS, Azure, GCP) and

serverless architectures

is a strong plus. Experience with

Agile/Scrum methodologies

and

project management tools

(Jira, Trello). Languages Fluent in

English

(required for collaboration). Fluent in

French or Dutch

(required for client/stakeholder communication). Soft Skills
