Freelance HSE Supervisor – Antwerp & Ghent

Industry: Industrial Services / Chemicals / Steel Manufacturing

Location: Antwerp & Ghent, Belgium

Contract: Freelance – 12 months

Schedule: Part-time initially approximately 1.5 days/week in Antwerp and 1 day/week in Ghent.

Language: English; Dutch is a plus

Our client is looking for an experienced Freelance HSE Supervisor to support projects across chemical and steel manufacturing sites in Antwerp and Ghent.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site HSE supervision for scaffolding, insulation and industrial maintenance works.
• Support a turnaround/shutdown project at the Antwerp site.
• Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks and site inspections.
• Ensure contractors and personnel comply with site safety procedures.
• Identify unsafe practices and confidently challenge or stop works when required.
• Follow up on HSE observations and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Previous HSE/Safety Supervisor experience within industrial environments.
• Experience with scaffolding, insulation, shutdowns or turnarounds preferred.
• Strong and assertive personality with the ability to push back on site.
• Professional English; Dutch is a bonus.
• Available to work across Antwerp and Ghent.

Schedule: Initially approximately 1.5 days/week in Antwerp and 1 day/week in Ghent.
