h3What you will do /h3 pYou will be responsible for designing and guiding the implementation of Java-based applications within a public-sector environment. Working closely with the enterprise architect, cloud engineers and external suppliers, you will help keep costs within budget while taking the necessary steps to professionalise development processes. /p pYour tasks include: /p ul liDesigning software architecture for Java applications /li liPreparing high-level and low-level designs (HLD/LLD) /li liEnsuring compliance with architecture principles and security guidelines /li liCollaborating with internal teams and external partners /li liSupporting the implementation of CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code /li /ul pThis assignment is ordered in phases. The first phase is estimated at 400 hours, with optional follow-up phases. /p h3What we are looking for /h3 pbEssential /b /p ul li5 years of proven experience as a specialist architect in a specific domain (networking, security, server infrastructure, application architecture, ERP, ECM platforms, data warehouse and BI, etc.) or as an Enterprise Architect /li li5 years of experience as a Java Software Architect /li liProven experience with DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and Ansible) /li liProven knowledge and experience of modelling techniques (ArchiMate, TOGAF, UML, Sparx EA) /li liProven knowledge of ArchiMate and UML to communicate clearly /li liProven knowledge of Spring Boot and container technology /li liA hands-on mentality: you can help development teams work out the necessary samples when needed and guide them to translate theory into practice /li liYou can clearly define where responsibilities lie and follow up on them /li liBachelor's or Master's degree /li liStrong communication skills and stakeholder management /li liDutch at European CEFR level C2 /li /ul pbDesirable /b /p ul liProven experience with Azure services (Compute, Storage, Networking, Security) /li liProven experience with the guidelines within the Flemish government landscape (IK1-4) /li liProven knowledge and experience of business processes in general /li liProven knowledge and experience of various project management facets (cost, timing, coordination, planning, estimates) /li liProven knowledge of all domains plus proven specialist architect in at least one specialist domain (infrastructure, application, security, data, process, etc.) /li /ul h3The setting /h3 pThis assignment runs from mid-November 2026 to the end of July 2027, with an estimated workload of 1,200 hours. The start date is 16 November 2026. /p pThe role is full-time, with hybrid working arrangements to be agreed with the line manager.
