IT Solution Architect

pSword Technologies is looking for a Senior Infrastructure Solution Architect to support the National Bank of Belgium in designing, guiding and validating resilient infrastructure solutions across on-premises and hybrid environments. /p pThe assignment requires broad infrastructure architecture expertise, combined with strong knowledge of database platforms, infrastructure modernisation, high availability and disaster recovery. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul lipDesign end-to-end infrastructure solutions covering on-premises platforms and hybrid cloud integrations. /p /li lipDefine and validate scalable, secure and resilient infrastructure architectures. /p /li lipProvide architectural guidance on logical and physical database design, application database migrations and database maintenance. /p /li lipDesign and assess high availability solutions and disaster recovery plans. /p /li lipAddress enterprise storage, backup, restoration and data protection requirements. /p /li lipDesign and guide the implementation of hyperconverged infrastructure. /p /li lipProduce clear architecture documentation, diagrams and technical recommendations. /p /li lipWork closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to maintain architectural consistency throughout delivery. /p /li lipProactively report progress, risks and dependencies. /p /li /ul br/ ul lipAt least five years of experience in Infrastructure Solution Architecture on similar assignments for organisations of comparable size. /p /li lipAt least three years of experience in the financial and/or public sector. /p /li lipStrong expertise in infrastructure architecture across on-premises, cloud and hybrid environments. /p /li lipExtensive database knowledge covering Oracle, SQL Server on-premises, Azure SQL and PostgreSQL. /p /li lipStrong understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, storage and backup architectures. /p /li lipExperience with hyperconverged infrastructure. /p /li lipPractical knowledge of infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform and Ansible. /p /li lipStrong networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, load balancing and SD-WAN. /p /li lipKnowledge of virtualisation and container platforms such as VMware, Nutanix, Docker and Kubernetes. /p /li lipKnowledge of Windows Server and Linux environments, including RHEL. /p /li lipFamiliarity with cloud infrastructure services and landing zone design, particularly Azure. /p /li lipKnowledge of architecture frameworks and modelling tools. /p /li lipUnderstanding of security architecture, identity and access management, Zero Trust, encryption and relevant compliance frameworks. /p /li lipStrong stakeholder management, documentation and presentation skills. /p /li lipAbility to work autonomously, take ownership of deliverables and communicate complex topics clearly. /p /li /ul h3Languages /h3 ul lipFrench or Dutch: minimum B2. /p /li lipOther national language: minimum A1/A2. /p /li lipEnglish: minimum B2. /p /li lipExcellent oral and written communication skills. /p /li /ul h3Assignment details /h3 ul lipStart date: 16 November 2026. /p /li lipWorkload: full-time, /p /li lipDuration: two years /p /li lipRemote working: up to 50%, subject to departmental needs and the supervising official’s approval. /p /li /ul
