For our client, one of Europe's fastest-growing international high-tech manufacturing companies , active in infrared camera imaging and advanced sensor technology, we are looking for an R&D Project Manager in Leuven, Belgium .

This is a project leadership role for an experienced project manager someone who combines a strong technical background with several years of experience independently leading complex cross-functional R&D and new product development projects.

Your Responsibilites

  • Take full ownership of complex R&D product development projects , from initial requirements and concept through development, prototyping, validation and product release
  • Define and manage project scope, timelines, milestones, budgets, resources and risks
  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams across areas such as electronics, embedded software/firmware, optics, mechanics and sensor technology
  • Plan project resources and negotiate priorities and availability with R&D managers and technical stakeholders
  • Drive project execution, identify risks and dependencies, and take corrective action when projects deviate from plan
  • Lead project meetings and ensure clear alignment between technical teams, management and other stakeholders
  • Monitor project performance and provide regular reporting on progress, budget, risks and key milestones
  • Ensure successful delivery of technically complex products within agreed time, cost and quality targets

Your Profile

  • 5+ years of experience independently leading complex R&D / new product development projects
  • Technical background in electronics, electrical engineering, semiconductors, photonics, optics, embedded systems or a closely related field
  • Proven responsibility handling project budgets, resources, scope, schedules, risks and delivery
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in a high-tech product development environment
  • Ideally a Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Physics, Photonics, Semiconductor Technology or another relevant technical discipline
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills in an international environment
  • A key R&D project leadership position within a fast-growing international high-tech manufacturing group
  • Work on cutting-edge infrared sensors, cameras and imaging technologies used in demanding industrial and advanced technology applications
  • High level of ownership and direct interaction with experienced R&D specialists and management
  • International and multidisciplinary engineering environment
