To strengthen our Finance team in Brussels, we are looking for a General Ledger Accountant.
You will join a Finance team of 7 colleagues and report directly to the Senior General Ledger Accountant.
You will work within a well-structured finance function, where accuracy, reliability of financial data and high-quality accounting processes are essential, in close collaboration with the controlling team.
Your responsibilities
As a General Ledger Accountant, you will actively contribute to general ledger accounting, monthly closings and financial reporting for several entities within the group.
- Participating in the preparation and review of monthly closings (general and analytical accounting)
- Performing account reconciliations (including accounts 45 and 325) and ensuring revenue reconciliation with payment methods
- Preparing and monitoring VAT returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations
- Supporting the follow-up of tax-related matters and fiscal obligations for the different entities
- Monitoring and analysing general ledger and supplier accounts
- Managing fixed assets, intercompany transactions and invoice approval processes
- Controlling rent invoicing and service charge settlements
- Supporting the preparation of annual accounts, tax declarations and VAT returns
- Processing payments via Isabel
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and tools
- Participating in financial analyses, statistical reporting and ad hoc projects
- Ensuring the accuracy and compliance of accounting records
- Acting as a key contact for controlling and external auditors
Your profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting
- 3 to 5 years of experience in General Ledger accounting
- Strong knowledge of VAT reporting and tax compliance
- Experience managing multiple entities, including real estate entities
- Fluent in French with a good operational understanding of Dutch
- Strong knowledge of Excel and accounting tools
- Accurate, structured and solution-oriented
- Able to work independently while collaborating closely with the team
- Proactive mindset and comfortable working in a dynamic environment
