ph3Hybrid /h3 /brpremote, with trips to Mons, Belgium — three days on site every second week. /p /brh3Who can apply /h3 /brpcandidates with the right to work in the EU, and UK-based candidates. /p /brpAn engineering seat on a real-time intelligence platform used by defence, national-security and NATO-aligned organisations across Europe. Small team, a great deal of ownership: an operational question arrives open-ended, and your job is to turn it into something operators genuinely rely on — in the field or in an operations centre. /p /brpThe heart of the work is Palantir Foundry. You design the pipelines, the ontology and the applications that bring live intelligence together with the customer's own operational data — sensor feeds, asset and unit positions, mission context — and you own the result from the first sketch on a whiteboard to a system people depend on. /p /brh3What You Would Be Doing /h3 /brul /brliSitting with defence and security users to understand what matters most to them in situational awareness and force protection, then scoping solutions against it. /li /brliDesigning, building and deploying on Palantir Foundry — data pipelines, ontology models and operator-facing applications. /li /brliBringing live intelligence into the workflows, common operating pictures and command-and-control tooling already in use, so that people with very different information needs each receive what is relevant to their mission. /li /brliBuilding and tuning custom widgets where that is what the user actually needs. /li /brliOwning solutions end to end, with little supervision and sound technical judgement of your own. /li /brliDebugging across the whole stack — infrastructure, networking, application — often in restricted, disconnected or on-premise settings. /li /brliBeing the technical adviser the customer's engineers and operators trust, and carrying their feedback back into the product. /li /brliTravelling to customer sites and operations centres in Europe, roughly a quarter to three quarters of the time. /li /br /ul /brh3What you would bring /h3 /brul /brliA strong engineering background — computer science, software engineering, mathematics, physics or something equally technical. /li /brliHands-on Palantir Foundry work: pipelines, ontology, Compute Modules, Code Repositories and Workbooks, application development. This one is core to the role. /li /brliFluency in at least one of Python, Java, SQL, TypeScript or JavaScript, Bash, Go. /li /brliThree years or more of professional software or forward-deployed / solutions engineering, shipping systems into production. /li /brliThe knack of picking up an unfamiliar platform architecture and data model quickly, and of reasoning about how a technical decision lands on the operator. /li /brliContainers (Docker or Podman) and orchestration (Kubernetes or OpenShift), with solid Linux, networking and on-premise fundamentals. /li /brliEase with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike, and with objectives that shift as the mission does. /li /brliWillingness to travel and to work on site in secure customer facilities. /li /br /ul /brh3Nice to have /h3 /brul /brliSoftware delivered in classified, air-gapped or otherwise disconnected environments. /li /brliA background supporting defence, intelligence, national-security or emergency-management work. /li /brliGeospatial platforms and common-operating-picture tooling (Esri, ArcGIS), or command-and-control systems. /li /brliFront-end frameworks, and data-rich applications built for operators. /li /brliA feel for how NATO and national defence customers handle accreditation and compliance. /li /brliA second European language. /li /br /ul /p
