- Role Description
we are looking for a hands-on Requirements Management Process Engineer / Business Analyst to join the IT organisation of a leading international automotive company. In this role, IT is the delivery function and R&D is your internal customer — you sit at the interface between the two, making sure R&D's needs are captured, structured, and traced through to delivery.
This role is open to both permanent and freelance candidates — whichever suits you best.
You'll wear two hats: process engineer (defining and standardising how requirements are managed within IT) and business analyst / requirements engineer (working directly with R&D to elicit and draft the requirements themselves). If you enjoy both building the system and doing the craft, this role fits.
What you'll do
- Define and roll out a lean requirements management process for an IT team serving an R&D organisation — pragmatic, right-sized, and actually adopted.
- Configure and implement templates and workflows in an ALM tool (Jama Software, or an alternative to be selected as part of the engagement).
- Act as a business analyst / requirements engineer, interfacing directly with R&D to elicit, structure, and draft clear requirements.
- Establish end-to-end traceability across the full V-cycle, from stakeholder needs through to verification and validation.
- Coach and train IT and R&D stakeholders in requirements engineering good practice, building internal capability that outlasts the engagement.
- Work with suppliers and outsourced partners to maintain traceability across externally delivered work.
What we're looking for
- Experience as a Business Analyst, Requirements Engineer, or Requirements/ALM Process Owner, ideally in an IT function within automotive, aerospace, or another regulated / safety-critical industry.
- Hands-on expertise with an ALM / requirements management tool — Codebeamer strongly preferred; DOORS, Polarion, Jama, or similar also relevant.
- Solid understanding of requirements engineering, traceability, and the V-model, and how IT delivery interfaces with R&D.
- Proven ability to define and lightweight-standardise a process and drive adoption across teams.
- Strong stakeholder skills: comfortable coaching, training, and translating between R&D engineers and IT delivery.
- Experience managing traceability across supplier / outsourced work is a strong plus.
- Fluent English; French, Dutch, or German a plus.
- Familiarity with ASPICE, ISO 26262, Agile, or stage-gate processes is welcome.
Why this engagement
You'll build a greenfield requirements management capability inside a major company's IT organisation, with real ownership over process, tooling, and ways of working. xlxgzvr High-visibility work at the heart of the IT–R&D interface.
Open to permanent or freelance — let's find the arrangement that works for you.
