Our client is a leading global real estate services firm.

In order to develop the structure of the company, they are looking for a Data Engineer responsible for laying the foundations for the acquisition, storage, transformation, and management of data. You will work closely with business and data analysts in order to architecting solutions for data scientists that enable them to do their jobs.

This position is based in Brussels.

Functieomschrijving

As Data Engineer, you will have a large scope of intervention:

  • Build and maintain data systems
  • Construct datasets that are easy to analyze and support company requirements
  • Use various methods to transform raw data into useful data systems
  • Evaluate business needs and objectives
  • Conduct complex data analysis and report on results
  • Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability
  • Collaborate with data analysts and business on several projects
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS 'big data' technologies.
Profiel
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to combine data from different sources.
  • Familiarity with several programming languages and knowledge of learning machine methods.
  • Previous experience as a data engineer or in a similar role.
  • Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Java and Python).
  • Hands-on experience with SQL database design.
  • Great numerical and analytical skills.
  • Degree in Computer Science, IT, or similar field; a Master's is a plus.
  • Data engineering certification (e.g IBM Certified Data Engineer) is a plus.
