Senior Mechanical Engineer

pWe're currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to take a leading role in the design and development of complex machines and mechanical systems. You will be involved throughout the full machine development lifecycle, from initial concepts and feasibility studies through detailed design, prototyping, testing, commissioning, and transfer into production. /ppThis is a hands-on engineering role with a strong focus on machine design. You will develop mechanical solutions for machines, mechanisms, structures, assemblies, and moving systems, taking ownership of designs from the initial concept through to a fully functioning machine. You will need to balance technical performance, reliability, manufacturability, cost, and ease of assembly while solving practical engineering challenges. /ppAs a senior member of the team, you will take technical ownership of complex machine design projects and provide guidance to other engineers. You will work closely with electrical, controls, software, manufacturing, and other engineering teams to ensure that the mechanical design integrates effectively with the complete machine. /ppstrongKey Responsibilities /strong /pulliLead the mechanical design and development of machines and complex mechanical systems from concept through to production. /liliDevelop machine concepts and mechanical architectures based on functional and technical requirements. /liliDesign mechanical assemblies, mechanisms, structures, frames, drives, fixtures, and moving components. /liliCreate detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D manufacturing drawings. /liliSelect appropriate materials, mechanical components, actuators, bearings, drives, and other machine elements. /liliCarry out mechanical calculations and analysis to validate designs, including loads, stresses, tolerances, and mechanical performance. /liliDesign and optimise mechanisms for movement, positioning, handling, and automation. /liliDevelop prototypes and support machine build, testing, and commissioning activities. /liliTroubleshoot mechanical issues during development, testing, installation, and production. /liliOptimise machine designs for reliability, manufacturability, assembly, maintenance, and cost. /liliWork closely with manufacturing and suppliers on machining, fabrication, component selection, and assembly requirements. /liliCollaborate with electrical, controls, software, and other engineering disciplines to deliver complete machines. /liliSupport design reviews, risk assessments, testing, and validation activities. /liliCreate and maintain technical documentation, drawings, BOMs, specifications, and other engineering documentation. /liliIdentify opportunities to improve existing machines, mechanisms, and engineering processes. /liliProvide technical leadership and mentoring to less experienced mechanical engineers. /liliTake ownership of mechanical engineering activities and contribute to key technical decisions throughout projects. /li /ulpstrongYour Profile /strong /pulliBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline. /liliSignificant professional experience in mechanical engineering and machine design. /liliProven experience designing machines, mechanisms, or complex mechanical assemblies. /liliStrong experience with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks; experience with other CAD packages is also considered. /liliStrong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, manufacturing processes, tolerancing, and assembly. /liliExperience with moving mechanisms, automation, machinery, or electromechanical systems. /liliExperience taking machine designs from concept through to prototype, testing, and production. /liliStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach. /liliExperience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams. /liliComfortable taking technical ownership and making engineering decisions. /liliExperience with pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, actuators, or other machine technologies is an advantage. /liliStrong communication skills and the ability to provide technical guidance to other engineers. /li /ulpstrongThe Offer: /strong /pulliA salary benefits package commensurate with experience /li /ulpPlease send over your CV to or call me on +32 (0) .
