VFX Lead 2D Compositor

As a Lead Compositor, you will oversee a team of compositors on assigned sequences, providing both creative and technical guidance while remaining hands-on with the work. You will help set the quality standard, manage workloads and deadlines, support artists with creative and technical challenges, and ensure that shots meet the required artistic and technical standards before delivery. Working closely with the Comp Supervisor, you will also contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment, sharing your knowledge and helping the team deliver high-quality work on time.

Missions

• Lead a team of compositors on assigned sequences, compositing master shots yourself to set the reference for the team
• Assign shots to artists according to complexity and follow up on their progress day to day
• Run dailies, give clear constructive feedback and help artists solve technical and creative challenges
• Setup 2D tracking, matte extraction, layering andcolourgrading, and build / maintain setups for the team to reuse
• Carry out the technical check of each shot after the supervisor’s artistic approval and before delivery
• Share your knowledge and techniques to help the team deliver on time
• Develop a positive and productive working environment within your team
• Keep a clear view of the sequence scheduled on Flow and work to tight deadlines
• Escalate blocking issues to the Comp Supervisor and switch between projects when needed

Profile

• Senior compositing experience, with a strong technical and artistic understanding of VFX compositing and experience working on complex shots and sequences.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to give clear feedback, support artists, and collaborate effectively with supervisors and production.
• Proactive and solution-oriented, with a good eye for detail and the ability to manage priorities, troubleshoot challenges, and deliver under tight deadlines.
• Based in Belgium and available to work from our studio at least 3 days per week, with a collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
