We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer / Data Engineering Lead to play a key role in shaping a modern data ecosystem and driving data engineering excellence within a large-scale enterprise environment.
Your Mission
As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll be at the heart of a growing data platform, ensuring high-quality, trusted, and scalable data solutions that empower analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making.
You will:
Design, develop and maintain robust data pipelines and integrations
Build and optimize Data Lakes, Data Warehouses and Data Marts
Develop scalable ETL/ELT solutions and incremental loading strategies
Improve data quality, monitoring, observability and operational reliability
Collaborate with architects, analysts, developers and business stakeholders
Drive engineering standards, best practices and automation
Coach and mentor team members on modern data engineering principles
Support analytics, BI and data science teams with trusted datasets
Your Technical Toolkit
Must-have skills:
- Strong SQL expertise (5+ years)
- Strong Python development experience (5+ years)
- Azure and/or AWS Data Platforms
- Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, Data Factory or similar cloud data platforms
- Spark, Hive or other Big Data technologies
- ETL/ELT development and orchestration
- Data pipeline design and optimization
- Data quality management and monitoring
- CI/CD and DevOps practices for data platforms
- Agile delivery experience
Nice to have:
Databricks
Power BI
Data Vault & Dimensional Modelling (Star Schema)
Machine Learning platform support
Data Governance & Data Contracts
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer
- Experience working in complex enterprise environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities
- Ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
- Coaching and mentoring mindset
- Autonomous, structured and results-driven professional
Languages
- English required
- Dutch and/or French are a strong plus
