Job description Together with a team of ambitious engineers and researchers, SCK CEN aims to develop new medical radioisotopes to treat cancer patients and solve the nuclear waste issue through the MYRRHA project ( The first implementation phase of MYRRHA (commissioning scheduled to start in 2027) consists of a ˜170 m long, superconducting, high-power proton accelerator with exceptional reliability and two target facilities for research into radioisotopes, radioactive ion beam physics and nuclear fusion reactor materials.
To help achieve these ambitious goals, we are looking for a new team member to join the “Accelerator Mechanics Group” (ACM) to follow up the design, procurement and commissioning of the RF components for the particle accelerator (RF power couplers, RF tuners, RF transmission lines, circulators, …). While some accelerator components are still being designed, others are already being procured to be ready in time for installation starting in 2027.
You will work closely with design engineers and physicists. follow up ongoing contracts for accelerator components, focusing on RF-related elements.
manage the in-house manufacturing process for selected RF components.
participate in test campaigns.
take part in installation and commissioning once applicable.
Job requirements Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
more than 4 years of experience as an engineer.
experience in systems engineering is an additional asset.
familiarity with 3D CAD software (Creo, Ansys).
fluent spoken and written English.
self-managing team player with attention to detail and a structured work approach.
