Equans in Hoboken is looking for a Head of Projects (Offshore Wind)

In the context of the Equans Offshore division strategy and within the set framework, you will:

  1. Plan, organize, lead, coordinate, and control the following activities in order to achieve excellence in the delivery of our projects:
  2. Project management activities
  3. Construction and operations activities in our Hoboken yard and Offshore
  4. Planning, cost control, and risks
  5. Resources development and management according to the execution strategy

Project Management

You will be responsible for:

  1. The project management processes in a structured way
  2. Monitoring and administrating the project processes
  3. Leading the project managers in a supportive and coaching way
  4. Implementing and reporting on the project KPIs & milestones
  5. Ensuring a proper focus is implemented on the cost and contractual aspects of the project
  6. Preparing the monthly project management review meetings (monthly project health checks)
  7. Working closely together with the other discipline leads to escalate project needs and optimize the multidisciplinary processes
Project Life Cycle

You will take part in all stages of the project life cycle, from initial planning to final completion and ensure complete closure or handover of projects.

Knowledge Management

Capture knowledge and experience, optimize their usefulness, and make them available to improve decision making.

Construction

You will be responsible for:

  1. Organizing that the works are carried out as safe and efficient as possible for all parties on the substation
  2. Coordination of all activities on the substations, with a clear visibility of all construction activities
  3. Transportation and lifting processes
  4. Work preparation together with construction managers to ensure an efficient and lean process is in place

Collaboration with the engineering team is key to deliver the packages in time for the projects.

Project Controls

A robust cost control process of our projects is a key activity in the delivery of successful projects. You will be responsible for:

  1. Planning our projects (physical progress, milestones, and resources)
  2. Risk management of different projects, conducting detailed and realistic assessments of project risks, and managing them effectively
Projects Department

As Head of Projects, you will lead and develop a team of:

  1. Project Directors
  2. Project Managers
  3. Package Managers
  4. Construction Managers
  5. Field Engineers
Qualifications & Skills

Do you possess the following?

  1. A master's degree in engineering (a clear asset with an excellent track record related to offshore projects & applications)
  2. Relevant experience in the construction or energy sectors and intimate knowledge of EPC contracts (minimum 10 years)
  3. Experience in motivating & supervising project teams in an international context, gathering necessary leadership skills
  4. Very good knowledge of (EPC) projects, construction & procurement
  5. A sufficiently strong personality to function in a changing environment with high stakes and tight deadlines
  6. Able to manage good relationships with clients and partners while monitoring Equans' interests
  7. Communication skills: English & Dutch; Knowledge of French is definitely an added value
