pstrongFreelance Contract Dates: 29 November 2026 – 30 December 2026 (Intially 222 hours) /strong /ppstrongSecurity Clearance: NATO Top Secret required /strong /ppWe are seeking a Virtual Infrastructure Engineer to support and maintain secure, enterprise-level IT infrastructure within a NATO environment. The successful candidate will have strong experience in Linux administration, VMware virtualisation, automation, and infrastructure operations, ensuring the availability, security, and performance of critical IT services. /ppstrongKey Responsibilities /strong /pulliManage and maintain virtual infrastructure, including VMware ESXi, vSAN, physical servers, and enterprise storage. /liliAdminister Linux systems, particularly RHEL and Oracle Linux 8–10, alongside Windows Server and Active Directory. /liliDevelop automation solutions using Ansible and Bash, and manage Linux systems through Red Hat Satellite. /liliPerform OS upgrades, patch management, system hardening, and security compliance activities. /liliTroubleshoot complex infrastructure, operating system, storage, and performance issues. /liliSupport cloud infrastructure, load balancing, and high-availability services. /liliMaintain technical documentation, infrastructure diagrams, and CMDB records. /liliFollow change management procedures and contribute to SOPs and operational documentation. /liliCollaborate with technical teams and service managers to support projects and service delivery. /liliParticipate in scheduled maintenance, on-call support, and shift work when required. /li /ulpstrongEssential Skills and Experience /strong /pulliRelevant vocational education with at least four years of related experience, or secondary education with at least six years of related experience. /liliStrong Linux administration and VMware virtualisation experience. /liliPractical knowledge of RHEL, Oracle Linux, Ansible, Bash, and Red Hat Satellite. /liliExperience in patch management, security hardening, troubleshooting, and enterprise infrastructure support. /liliKnowledge of Windows Server, storage, and cloud technologies. /liliStrong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills. /liliVMware, Linux, cloud, or automation certifications and previous experience in a NATO or secure enterprise environment are desirable. /li /ulpThis is a full-time, on-site position in Mons, Belgium. Candidates must be available for out-of-hours maintenance, on-call support, shift work during exercises or incidents, and occasional travel to other designated locations. /ppApplicants based in the UK who hold valid UK Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance are encouraged to apply. Existing UK clearance may provide the basis for obtaining the required NATO Security Clearance. /p
