As a Risk Analyst, you will play an important role in managing and monitoring credit risk across Volkswagen D’Ieteren Finance’s portfolio.
You will combine quantitative analysis, credit risk knowledge and programming skills to monitor portfolio developments, work with risk models and translate complex data into clear insights for the business and management.
This is a medior position for someone with a first solid experience in credit risk who wants to further develop their technical and business expertise. You will join a collaborative Risk team consisting of a Manager, three internal colleagues and an external consultant, while working closely with teams across Volkswagen D’Ieteren Finance and the wider D’Ieteren ecosystem.
What Will Your Role Involve?
Your responsibilities will include:
- Calculate and monitor Expected Credit Losses (ECL), loss allowances and cost of risk across the portfolio.
- Monitor IFRS 9 staging, Days Past Due (DPD) and movements between different risk stages.
- Develop, monitor and validate key credit risk parameters such as Probability of Default (PD), Loss Given Default (LGD) and Exposure at Default (EAD).
- Contribute to model development, calibration, backtesting and periodic validation.
- Monitor and validate credit risk scorecards and models .
- Prepare and validate the data used for risk calculations and reporting, ensuring data quality and performing the necessary checks.
- Analyse changes in provisions and identify the underlying drivers, including portfolio volume, portfolio mix and changes in risk parameters.
- Investigate the impact of stage migrations, write-offs and recoveries and explain key developments to management.
- Prepare internal and external risk reporting.
- Work closely with Controlling and Accounting to ensure sound governance and coordination around credit risk topics.
- Support methodological changes and coordinate the required approvals for models, parameters and other risk-related topics.
- Maintain relevant documentation and support compliance with applicable credit risk and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with teams such as Collections and Litigation to understand the root causes behind risk developments, write-offs and portfolio movements.
- Contribute to broader risk and compliance initiatives within the organisation.
Does This Profile Match You?
You have a strong analytical mindset and already have a solid foundation in credit risk. You enjoy working with data and models, but you are equally comfortable communicating your findings and collaborating with different stakeholders.
You bring:
- A Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Applied Economics or another quantitative field.
- Around 2–3 years of professional experience in Credit Risk, Risk Modelling or a closely related area.
- A good understanding of credit risk management, including risk identification, measurement and mitigation.
- Knowledge of relevant credit risk frameworks and regulations such as IFRS 9, Basel, CRR and CRD.
- Experience working with credit risk models and parameters such as PD, LGD, EAD and staging.
- A good foundation in econometrics and statistical modelling.
- Programming experience with SAS and/ or Python.
- Good knowledge of Excel; knowledge of VBA or another procedural programming language is an advantage.
- Knowledge of SQL or other analytical tools is considered a plus.
- Professional fluency in English. Knowledge of Dutch or French is a strong advantage, while German is considered a plus.
