We are seeking an experienced Geopolitical & Strategic Intelligence Consultant to provide research, intelligence analysis and strategic advisory support relating to European and EU political, economic, trade, foreign policy and security developments.

The consultant will monitor relevant developments across European governments and EU institutions, assess geopolitical and regulatory risks, conduct structured research on specific issues and developments, and provide actionable analysis to support strategic decision-making.

This is a remote, project-based consulting engagement suitable for professionals with experience in government, EU institutions, international organisations, geopolitical risk, strategic intelligence, security policy, diplomacy, public affairs or related advisory fields.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyse geopolitical, diplomatic, economic, trade, regulatory and security-related developments across Europe and the European Union.
  • Conduct in-depth open-source and professional research into specific geopolitical events, policy developments, institutions, sectors and issues relevant to assigned projects.
  • Assess potential political, regulatory, geopolitical and security risks and their possible implications for business and strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor changes in government policy, legislation, regulation and institutional priorities.
  • Prepare concise intelligence briefs, analytical reports, risk assessments and strategic recommendations.
  • Identify emerging developments and provide early-warning analysis regarding potential political, economic, regulatory or geopolitical risks.
  • Conduct stakeholder and institutional mapping across European governments, EU institutions, international organisations, think tanks, industry associations and relevant policy communities.
  • Support professional engagement with relevant institutions, policymakers, subject-matter experts and other stakeholders.
  • Provide informed assessments of European governmental and EU institutional processes where relevant to specific projects.

Candidate Profile

Requirements

  • Ideally 3+ years of relevant professional experience in geopolitical analysis, government affairs, diplomacy, international trade, security policy, strategic intelligence, public policy or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of European political and institutional environments and/or EU decision-making processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to research complex political, economic, regulatory or security-related issues and transform information into concise analytical assessments.
  • Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently on sensitive and time-critical research and advisory assignments.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
  • Additional European languages are an advantage.

Compensation

Competitive project-based or hourly consulting compensation, depending on professional experience, subject-matter expertise, project complexity and scope of work.
