Mechanical & Thermal Design Engineer

We are currently supporting an innovative high-tech company based in the Brussels area in its search for a Mechanical & Thermal Design Engineer to join its growing R&D team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and contribute throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from concept design to industrialization.

Your Responsibilities

As a Mechanical & Thermal Design Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, validating, and optimizing products for manufacturing.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks
  • Developing and maintaining detailed 3D CAD models and technical drawings
  • Performing Finite Element Method (FEM/FEA) analyses for structural validation
  • Conducting thermal simulations and thermal performance assessments
  • Performing tolerance stack-up calculations and design verification
  • Driving design improvements with a strong Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design to Manufacturing mindset
  • Collaborating closely with production, suppliers, quality, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Supporting product industrialization and transition from prototype to serial production
  • Identifying and solving technical challenges related to performance, reliability, and manufacturability

Your Profile

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Solid experience in mechanical product development within an industrial environment
  • Strong proficiency with:
  • SolidWorks
  • 3D CAD Design
  • FEM / FEA analysis
  • Tolerance calculations and stack-up analysis
  • Thermal analysis and heat transfer principles
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and industrial constraints
  • Hands-on, pragmatic engineering approach
  • Ability to bridge the gap between design and production
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Languages

English is mandatory

Any additional European language (French, Dutch, German, Italian, Spanish, etc.) is considered a strong asset
