The position is remote from within the EU, with occasional on-site presence in bBrussels (Belgium) /bof up to 5 days per quarter, always scheduled in advance. /ppIn this role, you will develop and evolve reusable components and services used by the corporate information systems that manage EU research and innovation grants, including document management, financial and accounting integration, access rights and fine-grained authorisation, codes and taxonomies, document templates and electronic forms. You will work closely with project managers, developers and IT security specialists, combining hands-on full-stack development with API design, cloud deployment and secure-by-design practices. /ph3What you'll do /h3ulliDevelop and maintain features across the entire stack, from designing user interfaces and consuming APIs to implementing server-side business logic and database interactions. /liliDevelop front-end website architecture and design user interactions on web pages. /liliDevelop back-end applications and implement core business logic. /liliDesign, develop and secure RESTful APIs and web services, including OpenAPI/Swagger documentation. /liliApply data and security best practices: input validation, authentication/authorisation, secure storage, compliant logging and monitoring. /liliParticipate in the design and creation of scalable software, maintaining code integrity and organisation. /liliPerform unit and integration testing, debug, fix and validate code changes. /liliDeploy and manage applications on cloud platforms using CI/CD pipelines and containerisation technologies. /liliCompile and analyse data, processes and code to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement. /liliWrite technical documentation. /liliBridge the gap between front-end and back-end developers, ensuring cohesive integration of all system components. /li /ulh3What we're looking for /h3ulliUniversity degree corresponding to Level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework (Master's) and minimum 5 years of professional IT experience, or a degree corresponding to Level 6 (Bachelor's) and minimum 7 years of professional IT experience. Degrees in any field of study are accepted. /liliEU nationality (required, as the role involves access to sensitive data). /liliVery good knowledge of English or French, both spoken and written, at B2 level or higher. /liliKnowledge of front-end frameworks/libraries (Angular, React, Vue, Bootstrap) and modern build tools (Webpack, Vite). /liliProficiency in Java, Node.js or PHP back-end stacks, with experience in Spring Boot, Hibernate and REST API development. /liliProficiency with relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle) and non-relational (e.g., MongoDB) databases, including schema design and query optimisation. /liliExperience with Git workflows (GitFlow, trunk-based) and understanding of legacy systems using SVN. /liliKnowledge of cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and experience deploying and managing applications in a cloud environment. /liliExperience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Bicep). /liliKnowledge of containerisation and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). /liliUnderstanding of authentication and authorisation protocols and standards (e.g., OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT). /liliAbility to integrate front-end and back-end builds into CI/CD pipelines. /liliAbility to work autonomously and within multicultural, multilingual teams. /li /ulh3Nice to have /h3ulliExperience in grant management, financial or document-management systems. /liliExperience in IT security for business applications. /liliExperience working within European Institutions or large public administration environments. /li /ulh3What
